Guidelines for Authors
Submission of articles on subjects with relevance (multidisciplinary) to the journal is welcomed. Journal of Sustainability Science and Management publishes 12 issues per year (monthly). The submission should adhere to our guidelines in the template.
The manuscripts are preferably written in British English and Malay (selected manuscripts). When written in Malay, title, abstract and keywords in English must be provided. Submit your manuscript at https://mc04.manuscriptcentral.com/jsusm.
Manuscripts are accepted on the understanding that they have not been and will not be published elsewhere. All submissions will be peer-reviewed. The Chief Editor/Deputy Chief Editor has the final decision on publication. Accepted manuscripts become the copyright of the journal. From 2019, the journal published all manuscripts with an eISSN number and digital object identifier (DOI).
Turnitin similarity must be lower than 19%.
Journal of Sustainability Science and Management adopts open access with article processing charges of USD 300.
PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS
JSSM accepts research/original article, short communication, letter to editor, monograph and review article. All manuscripts should adhere to the scope and policy of JSSM.
Manuscripts should be typed with a wide margin and double-spaced, Times New Roman (Font 12) on one side of A4 (30 x 21 cm) paper. A full-length research manuscript could contain a maximum of 6000 words, a review manuscript could have maximum 5000 words and short communication about 1,000 words.
In the text, scientific names should be italicised; do not underline any words. Avoid excessive use of italics to emphasize text. In general, manuscripts should be organised in the following order:
Short Communications
Title (should be clear, descriptive and concise)
Abstract: 150 words
Keywords: 3-5 items
Introduction
Section [own heading and contain (if necessary) no more than 3 of either figures or tables combined]
Conclusion
References
Only one short communication will be published for every issue.
Research/Original Article
Title (should be clear, descriptive and concise)
Abstract: 250 words
Keywords: 3-5 items
Introduction
Materials and Methods
Results
Discussions
Conclusion
References
Review Article
Title (should be clear, descriptive and concise)
Abstract: 250 words
Keywords: 3-5 items
Introduction (where the topic or problem is introduced & previous research is described)
Materials and Methods (how was the data obtained, which protocol was used and how was the information screened or filtered)
Results (organise the facts into sub-headings)
Discussions (main points are discussed but without sub-headings)
Conclusions (article’s strengths & weaknesses)
References
